What type of clinic are you?
We are a non-profit veterinary clinic that focuses on access to care. Our mission is to provide affordable veterinary care and to help combat the pet overpopulation crisis.
What services do you offer?
We are not a full-service veterinary clinic. We are not equipped to see critically ill patients. However, we do offer surgical, dental, and wellness services for cats and dogs.
Can I get free services?
We are not a free clinic, but we are a low-cost clinic. We partner with Save Rescue Coalition to provide some free or subsidized spay and neuter clinics on select weekends. These weekend clinics are means tested and you must qualify.
We do not offer any other free or subsided surgical procedures, dentals, and wellness appointments. Our prices are already at the lowest cost possible. As a non-profit our goal is to cover our costs, not make a profit.
What is the difference between Fix Ur Pet weekday clinic and the outreach weekend clinics?
Weekend clinics are hosted by Fix Ur Pet but are ran by The Outreach Team.
These weekend clinic's offer free and/or subsidized services to those that meet certain financial criteria. These clinic's are made possible by generous financial donations and the hardwork and dedication by the volunteers of The Outreach Team.
These clinics may utilize different protocols, doctors, and staff than Fix Ur Pet. Additionally, many services available with Fix Ur Pet may not be available during Outreach clinics. These services include but are not limited to, pre-surgical bloodwork, dental cleanings, wellness services, additional surgical procedures, additional medications, ongoing prescription refills for preventions, and follow up care.
Fix Ur Pet is a avid supporter of The Outreach Team and we will do our best to assist you if you encounter a problem after your procedure. Are there risks with surgery and anesthesia?
Yes, there is always an inherent risk with surgical procedures and anesthesia. Our team is skilled and we minimize risks as much as possible however, we cannot guarantee your pet wont experience complications before, during, or after their procedure.
You can help minimize their risks by following our recommendations and pre/post-operative instructions.
What do I do if my pet was fixed during a outreach weekend clinic and is having a complication?

Do I really need to purchase an e-collar and keep my pet calm after surgery?
Yes, we recommend an e-collar and take home NSAIDS on all surgical patients. At discharge, your given specific post-operative instructions that we expect you to follow. The closer you follow the post-operative instructions, the quicker your pet will recovery and the less likely they are to experience post-operative complications. We also offer calming medications to help aid in exercise restriction following surgery.
Do I really need to do pre-surgical bloodwork?
We recommend pre-surgical bloodwork on all patients but require it on pets over 5 years of age and pets receiving a dental cleaning.
Pre-surgical bloodwork allows us to check your pets basic internal organ functions and red/white cell numbers. This is important to assess the pet’s overall health. It is not a guarantee that they wont experience complications however, it is another layer of safety.
My pet is brachycephalic (short nosed), can we schedule a surgery?
We commonly do procedures on brachycephalic breeds. These breeds are at a higher anesthetic risks due to the anatomy of their airways. To help ensure their safety, there is an non-optional additional fee for these pets that allows our staff to administer additional oxygen, monitoring, and anti-nausea medications.
What do I do if my pet is experiencing an emergency?
Immediately call and go to the closest emergency clinic! We are not a emergency clinic and we do not see critically ill pets. There are several area ER/urgent care clinics.
We do not answer the phone outside of business hours.
